Mission Statement

The Falls Church High School library fosters a sense of belonging for every student and nurtures opportunities for student growth.
Our library program practices reach, challenge, and prepare every Jaguar for success in school and life by providing a responsive, caring, and inclusive culture where all feel valued, supported, and hopeful.

FAQ

When can I come to the library?

  • before school
  • during Intervention (with a library appointment e-pass)
  • during lunch (with an e-pass)
  • during class (with an e-pass)
  • after school 

*Sign in at the front desk & tell us you're here so we can update your e-pass. 

Do I need a pass?

  • Yes. Unless it's before or after school. 
  • Get an Intervention appointment e-pass from the library before the warning bell rings for first/second period or anytime the day before.
    • Everyone must get their own pass.
    • Just picking up printing? An e-pass from class is fine. 

Can I use my cell phone?

The library is a cell-phone free space during school hours.

  • If you are here with a class, please put your phone in the designated pocket in our teaching space.
  • If you are here for study hall, please put your phone in the designated pocket on the library office door.
  • If you are here for lunch or on a pass, please put your phone in your backpack. 

Checkouts, Renewals, & Overdue Books:

  • Books check out for three weeks.
  • Books may be renewed as many times as needed unless there is a hold on the book.
  • Books are marked lost 30 days after the due date. The book cost is added to your account until the book is returned. 
  • There is no limit on the amount of books you may check out. 
    • Graphic Novels: 4 per series at one time so everyone gets a chance to read them.
